Women's Health
Women's health issues are one of the most important topics related to health today. More and more studies are being done to improve women's health with preventive practices and regular health maintenance. In today's fast paced world, the role of woman has increased and expanded beyond their natural role of caregivers to include a multitude of different careers which has brought an impact to women's health. The number of different diseases and ailments that affect women's health has steadily increased. Regular exercise, eating healthy, nutritious foods and proper vitamin and mineral intake are key factors in maintaining women's health.
One important issue related to women's health today is the fact that more than 500,000 women die annually in the U.S. of heart attack or stroke, making cardiovascular disease the main cause of death in women. Heart attacks are more likely to cause death in women than in men. Other issues are breast cancer and other forms of cancer. To reduce the impact of these diseases on women's health, it is important for information and education to be readily accessible. Information and available services can empower women to enjoy better health than ever before. However, women's health must never be taken for granted.

Research indicates that women and men differ physiologically in more areas than just reproduction. Advances are continually being made in learning diagnosis, treatment and women's disease prevention. For many years, the majority of disease treatments have been addressed predominantly for men. Women's health is now at risk equally and sometimes more so then men's health. Thus it is critical that women's health be considered of prime importance.
Women today have a responsibility to talk to their doctors and to become aware of potential changes they could experience. As women get older, there are certain issues that need to be addressed. Women's health is something that should be taken seriously. Menopause and osteoporosis are two common issues affecting women's health. Women must educate themselves and know what they can do to help either prevent, or ease certain afflictions, and maintain a healthy and fulfilled mind, body and spirit.
