Vibration has been used as an element of harmonizing and balancing back through antiquity. Traditional practitioners in indigenous cultures all over the globe have relied upon loud percussive sounds and intense vibrations to break up congested or static energy in an environment or individual. They have equally followed up in the more soothing vibrations as the lyrical tones as the flute, or heartbeat like the vibration of a drum. The use of tones as vibration has been explored by eastern medical practitioners to harmonize one's system. Single tones have actually been identified as having a correlation to particular organs or systems in the human body.

When Tibetan monks create tones through long horned instruments near round sand disks, the sand actually forms patterns or mandalas in response to the vibrations.

All sound is the audible evidence of energy in motion.

A ten year old girl who had a plantar's wart was given the option of surgery to remove it or to try an experimental treatment involving the vibration produced by ultrasound. Opting for the ultrasound, the girl received ultrasound treatments for the period of half an hour once a week for 8 to 10 weeks. Slowly the plantar's wart on the heel of her foot began to reduce in size and eventually disappeared altogether with no reoccurrence in later life. The conclusion drawn was the ultrasound vibration contributed to the breakup of the element creating the wart and caused the gradual reduction and elimination of the problem. This is only one instance as to how vibration has been applied to effectively deal with disease or imbalance in the human system without invasive surgery or medications.

Many massotherapists include massage with a tool that produces a vibration as it is applied directly to the skin in gentle massage. This stimulates, invigorates and relaxes muscles through a vibration of a pulse of energy. Relaxation may well be the result of the vibration stimulating and breaking up toxins at the tissue and cellular level, thus allowing for elimination of the harmful agents and restoration of the body to a state of balance.

As we study quantum physics more, we will obtain an even greater understanding of the nature of vibration as energy in motion, how it balances and how it can positively affect whole health.
